KUNCHO | Founded in 1702 in the city of Hita, Kuncho Sake Brewery has a long and proud history of sake-making that can be traced back to the Edo period. In the modern day it’s home to five separate breweries and a sake museum, which honours the centuries old tradition of producing high-quality nihonshu.
Hita is surrounded by nature and is blessed with abundant water resources, so much so that it is called “Suigo Hita”. Kuncho Sake Brewery uses the blessings of nature to produce delicious sake.
Nigorizake (cloudy) sake is a distinctive style with a unique set of flavour profiles, due to how it’s produced. It’s sake with rice particles that have been left over from the filtration process. Rather than pressing the sake out of the moromi (main fermentation mash) through a fine filter, Nigori is crafted with a mesh filter, leaving behind some of the solids, giving Nigori it’s cloudy appearance.
The Kuncho Nigori is one of the brand’s finest offerings, produced with Gohyakumangoku rice and has a rice polishing rate of 70%.
Kuncho Pink Nigori
A slightly sparkling Junmai Nigori Sake that pops with a light sparkle!
Pale Pink Nigori Sake made with pure rice and rice malt. The secret to the melty, enchanting pink color is the “red sake yeast” that produces a natural red pigment in the mash – no other colouring agents or red rice were used.
This fizzy Nigori has a soft, sweet aroma and natural sweetness. Gases are fermented in the bottle with bubbles forming when poured into a glass, gently stimulating the inside of the mouth – a refreshing aftertaste which makes it a perfect gift, especially for ladies!
The soft and gentle bubbly “Pink Nigori Sake” goes perfectly well with the crispy chocolates.
